ICMC Courtesy Call on the Governor of Delta State Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, FICMC (JP).

On the 26th of August 2023, Dr. Agada John Elachi, FICMC, FCIArb(UK), the President of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, FICMC (JP). The delegation included Ambassador Victor A. A. A. Ojaide, FICMC, the Vice President of Continuing Professional Development, Aisha Ado Abdullahi, FICMC, Registrar of the Institute, Ambassador Segun Ogunyanwo, FICMC, the immediate past Registrar, Sir Augustine Nwokolo, FICMC, the Chairman of the Asaba Branch of the Institute and other members of the Branch.

Ambassador Victor A. A. A. Ojaide was mandated by the President to speak on behalf of the delegation. He expressed his gratitude to Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, FICMC (JP), for warmly welcoming the ICMC delegation, he commended the Delta State Government for their outstanding efforts in fostering the growth and development of the state.

Furthermore, the Vice President of Continuing Professional Development proudly noted the long-standing relationship between the Delta State Government and the Institute, acknowledging various collaborations and support. The Institute called on the State to further enhance its peace-building mechanism by building the capacity of all relevant stakeholders in peace and conflict resolution.

In response, the esteemed Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, FICMC (JP), conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the President and his team for gracing them with their visit. He wholeheartedly pledged to continue to collaborate with the institute on its noble pursuit of promoting peace-building and harmonious coexistence. Furthermore, the Governor enthusiastically announced his intention to attend the ICMC ADR Conference on the 28th of November 2023 as well as to support the building and launch of the ICMC Mediation House.

Lastly, the distinguished Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, FICMC (JP), expressed profound gratitude towards ICMC for its remarkable contributions to the landscape of Dispute Resolution. He urged ICMC to continue its commendable efforts in raising awareness about the imperative need to embrace alternative approach to conflict resolution.

As a token of appreciation, a delightful exchange of gifts took place.
