Meet our Moderator: Racheal Osibu, FICMC

Racheal is a lawyer, Arbitrator, Mediator and Business Analyst with expertise in Arbitration, Mediation, Corporate Commercial Law and Practice and Regulatory Compliance Advisory. The Managing Partner at Osibogun and Partners, a multidisciplinary Law Firm with offices in Lagos and Abuja. She is a Fellow and an approved faculty member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, a member of the International Chamber of Commerce, Africa Commission, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK and an Associate Member of the Chartered Governance Institute, UK with expertise in Corporate Governance Practice. She has gained substantial experience advising HNIs and Corporate Entities in the areas of corporate
governance, contract negotiation and drafting and dispute management across several types of complex transactions. A dispute resolution expert with over a decade’s experience in the practice and delivery of training, covering different aspects of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

She has been appointed Sole Arbitrator, acted as counsel and co-counsel in several Ad-hoc arbitrations, co-counsel in an ICSID arbitration and served as Tribunal Secretary to several Arbitration Tribunals. A member of several Panels of Neutrals including the Lagos Court of Arbitration (LCA), the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce-Dispute Resolution Centre and the Justice Uwais Dispute Resolution Centre (Abuja Multidoor Courthouse). She has acted as mediator in various types of disputes focusing on family and commercial matters.

She has published an article on ‘The Role of Lawyers in a Mediation Proceeding’ in the Arbitrator, the Alternative Dispute Journal of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK (Nigeria Branch), is currently writing a book on Resolving Disputes in Simple Steps using Mediation and has been invited as a speaker and panellist at several Seminars, Conferences and Workshops.

Racheal is an alumna of the University of Calabar and the University of Kingston, London, United Kingdom where she obtained a master’s degree in International Commercial Law and a certificate in Negotiation.

She is known for her attention to detail, organisational skills, efficiency, reliability and consistency.
